Christiane Wuillamie OBE
Christiane Wuillamie OBE is a transformational leader, who has built and operationalised a strong, high-performance culture in every role and turnaround project in which she has been involved. She leverages technology to solve business challenges by developing people and implementing joined-up processes that deliver competitive advantage. Her technology skills make her a valued advisor on digital transformation and cyber security.
Christiane believes that only a culture of collaboration and transparency, together with appropriate risk management oversight, strong IT management and responsible leadership, can realise the potential technology and digital transformation offers including the resulting safety and security. She started her career in 1980 after working for the United Nations Commission on Human Rights setting up a resettlement camp for Vietnamese refugees. She has had every job in IT from coding and running a software house, to being Chief Information Officer in financial services.
In 1994, Christiane founded CWB, a dynamic IT services company solving banks’ failed projects, expanding the business into large software development projects in risk management and banking as well as a managed services group taking over the outsourced management of internal banks’ IT systems. The business grew year-on-year for seven years collecting many awards before being sold to Thales in 2001. In 2010-15 Christiane advised the Secretary of State, Sir Vince Cable, and the UK government on topics supporting SMEs – from international trade and financing solutions, to export finance and employment law. She was also involved in the Women on Board research initiative and was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to business.
Besides being a non-executive Board member, she is the co-founder of a technology firm, PYXIS Culture Technologies, which is quantifying the linkage between corporate culture, leadership and business results and helping senior leaders understand how culture impacts cyber security, safety, conduct risk, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
