Dr. Anuja Prashar

Anuja Prashar is Kenyan born and a Lecturer in International Business at KCA University in Nairobi. She has spent ten years teaching sociology, globalisation and comparative BRICS business studies, as well as Assessor and Programme Leader of European Foundation Quality Management. She has a BA Economics, MSc Race and Ethnic Relations and her doctoral thesis is focused on the relational role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the emerging economies of India and Kenya.

Over the past two years Anuja has served as Director of Community Services for the Rotary Club of Nairobi (Central) and she is currently Head of Food Hampers Distribution as part of the National Emergency Response Team during the COVID-19 crisis. She also currently serves on the Boards of Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa, East Africa Region, the Batibabu Foundation, Kisumu, the Arya Samaj Education Board, Nairobi, and the Marketing Committee for CSR at Muthaiga Golf Club. She writes for publications on globalisation, social and economic inclusion and CSR.

Anuja is the founder and Director of APP Consulting which applies excellence to cross cultural exchanges by promoting increased cultural awareness and understanding. She has over thirty years’ business experience including four years as Staff Officer to the Director General at the Home Office in the UK and fifteen years as the proprietor of a gas station retail chain. In addition, she serves as an advisor to several national/international race and faith organisations. She created and campaigned with Communities4Europe in the European Union Referendum – including as Director and Treasurer of the European Movement. She has worked on policy development in the UK and Brussels with groups involving nuclear, immigration, refugee and asylum policy, reclaiming liberalism, and equality in higher education.
